St. James' Christian Formation

Christian Education

St. James' offers Christian Formation classes for children in grades K-5th.

Children are exposed to the Bible and the teaching of the Episcopal Church through various teaching methods including:

  • story telling
  • role-playing
  • arts and crafts
  • story boards (felt boards)

St. James' provides a warm and loving environment for children to explore their faith.

In an effort to have children live their faith, many community outreach opportunities are incorporated into the curriculum.  Outreach opportunities have included providing meals for the Ronald McDonald House, decorating pet beds with our Animal Care Ministry, help make Palm crosses for Palm Sunday service, and sending Christmas cards to our Service Men and Women.

Christian Education classes are held each Sunday from September to the end of May.  Children leave the church before the reading of the lessons and meet in the Christian Education Room and then return for the Peace and the Eucharist.
