Loading...On May 27, 2018 I hosted a fireside chat about the use of flags in church after the 8:00 service in Gleason Hall.
In the past it has been the general practice at St James for two flags to stand in the nave. Recently the Episcopal flag had gone missing and the American flag was faded. Concerns were raised when I asked that they be replaced. I asked that as a congregation we lean into the discomfort of what it means to ask, “Why do we have flags in the worship space?”
