I am certain that you know this by now, but just one more reminder that we will be using liturgy from Enriching our Worship this summer, beginning Sunday.
It's not a huge change, but it is definitely a change, and for some, any change can be difficult. That's why I think it is important to repeat any announcements about any changes that impact the way we understand how God is working among and through us.
Using a variety of liturgies is important to me. I like to hear different prayers, words, messages, and music to help me find new ways to connect with our Creator. Seasonal changes in liturgy are a simple way to open my eyes (and perhaps yours) to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit in new and sometimes challenging ways.
Liturgy is not the only place we can encounter change in the ways we live in community together. The Vestry is reading the book "Beyond Business as Usual" by Neal Michell. They are learning together some new skills and tactics to be effective vestry members. (Ask a vestry member to learn more!)
Some changes can bring new awareness to our St. James' body of Christ so that we can be more in tune with what our roles and callings are in this community and the places we will go.
I believe that with change comes a great opportunity for growth. Thank you for inviting me to roam through it with you. Together we can stumble through the words of liturgy, check out new or different processes, and grow even more fully.
Jesus gave us the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) to go forth and spread the Word of God. Sometimes we need new experiences (change), to learn the best ways we can do just that.
Changing and growing with you,
Rev. Debbie+
