Here is one of the photos Deacon Mary sent me of flowers growing out of rocks in her garden in Florida. They are a reminder, to me, that beauty can come out of the most unexpected, rough places.
That’s the Easter story in a sentence, isn’t it? Beauty, hope, joy, possibilities all come out of the brutal death of Jesus.
As people of the resurrection, we believe that in these 50 days of Easter, we are invited to look for new life, new birth, new opportunities—reminders that even in death, and sometimes only because of death, comes renewal.
