Death and Resurrection

The Rev. H. Elizabeth Back November 05, 2018

In a manner of speaking I have been killed.  Not with a gunshot, but with a phone call.  Murder is the way my ex-husband described the consequences of his treatment to our family upon his departure.  It took 20 years to create our life together and it died the summer of 2014.   Like Lazarus I have been raised from the grave,  unbound and let go.  Today is the day to talk about death and resurrection.

All Saints is the feast of the church calendar which commemorates that there’s the way things are and there is a way we want things to be.  The way things are is that people die.  The way we want things to be is for people to live forever.
